Twas’ three weeks before Thanksgiving …
Dear Friends,
Last year we enjoyed a full on Dalrymple Thanksgiving in Pinehurst! We had all our children and all the dogs too!
We start at Pine Needles with Bloody’s and Burgers. Naps and walks follow before we dress for dinner. It’s important for you to know that I have never cooked a turkey or hosted Thanksgiving dinner. We always spend Thanksgiving in Pinehurst. The menu and photos I’m sharing in this newsletter are all thanks to my sister-in-law, Liz!
Liz always knocks it out of the park on Thanksgiving day with a delicious menu and beautiful table while Chris gets all the country ham and turkey sliced and of course, equally important, makes sure the bar is fully stocked. Divide and conquer!
MENU
Thanksgiving
- Charcuterie
- Thanksgiving Turkey with Stuffing
- Bourbon Sweet Potatoes
- Collards
- Brussel Sprouts with Radicchio and Pancetta
- Sister Schubert’s Parker House Style Yeast Rolls
- Bourbon Pecan Pie
- Chocolate Chess Pie
Menu includes Gameplan, Shopping List, and Recipes!
Liz always makes Thanksgiving special with a beautifully set table.
While I so appreciate the way we “do Thanksgiving” with Liz’s beautiful table and with our men in sports coats, I also believe what is most important is that we are gathered with family and friends. What is most important is enjoying this time, giving thanks for all our many blessings, and remembering those who are suffering.
If you are hosting Thanksgiving I hope this newsletter helps you think about how you can make it special whether your table is casual or formal.
I also hope this helps you plan, prep, and prepare ahead of so you can enjoy the day. Ask others to help. One of my most favorite pages in Effortless Entertaining is from Mary Beaver. Her Thanksgiving Helper job chart is brilliant!
Thanksgiving is truly about being together.
Blessings to you and yours for a happy and grateful Thanksgiving,
