Easter Dinner 2024
Dear Friends,
As Easter approaches, I find myself pondering Jesus’s resurrection and what this miracle means for our lives today. Much has been made about Jesus appearing to women before anyone else. Given the culture of that time, women were the most unlikely first recipients of this good news. Jesus’s love and ways were radical then and still are as the “He Gets Us” commercials convey. As we celebrate Easter, radical love is worth considering.
Of course, as you’ve heard me say many times, hospitality is one of the beautiful ways we love each other. As Easter approaches, many of you are planning your menus for this special occasion. I give you my favorite that you’ve seen featured in The Dish before. As the saying goes, “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it!”
That said, I do think Easter is also a time for making the occasion special. It’s a perfect time for fine china, sliver and crystal … all the things that convey the importance of the celebration. With a little advance planning and preparation, this need not add stress! Remember Step #9 in Effortless Entertaining … Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan. By the time your guests arrive for Easter lunch, you will be enjoying a Mimosa as you welcome them for this festive and happy time!
